Kyle J. Martelon

My litigation practice includes mediation, arbitration, family law, and general litigation matters. I understand that parties to these matters are very often going through some of the most difficult times in their lives, and I bring that same mindset to the table when I have the honor of serving as a third-party, neutral mediator at Divorce Resolutions. I approach each mediation with compassion, understanding, and thoroughness. I am very sensitive to the fact that parties participating in the mediation process are navigating the often-confusing nuances of the judicial system, and my goal is to always work within the boundaries of my role to assist the parties in hopefully reaching the best resolution possible.

I specialize in assisting parties in the following areas: divorce and legal separation, allocation of parental responsibilities, geographical relocation matters, arbitration, child support, maintenance, same-sex and LGTBQIA2S+ issues, partition actions, common law marriage, complex financial issues, paternity matters, marital and co-habitation agreements, contempt issues, and post-decree issues of all kinds, including post-decree modifications.  I also serve as an arbiter as well as a Parenting Coordinator/Decision-Maker (PC/DM).

I graduated in the top 3% of my class at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. After law school, I served as a Law Clerk to the Honorable Jane A. Tidball at the Jefferson County District Court. I assisted in managing her division’s civil, domestic, and criminal dockets. From this experience, I gained inside perspective as to how judges evaluate, analyze, and decide complex legal issues. This valuable knowledge assists me every single day in both my practice as a litigator and as a mediator. I then worked at a boutique family law firm in downtown Denver, and then as an Assistant District Attorney in Denver, before joining the law firm Ciancio Ciancio Brown, P.C., where I am a Partner. In my free time, I enjoy running, traveling, skiing and the local restaurant scene.
